Abbey Lodge is a spotlessly clean friendly family run Victorian guesthouse situated in the heart of Southsea close to the sea and major attractions. We invite you to enjoy our welcoming atmosphere and try our comprehensive cooked to order breakfasts: We are currently refurbishing throughout to a high standard and have a new Family Suite designed for older children (over seven) and a new King Size En Suite for you to enjoy. Regrettably we do not accept babies or young children.
Abbey Lodge Guest House is the large Victorian town house home of Linda and Mike Forbes situated in the heart of Southsea. We will be delighted to welcome you into our home. Once you are here you can relax and enjoy everything we and the local area have to offer. Abbey Lodge is just a ten minute stroll from the beach and within easy reach of the Historic Dockyard Heritage Museums Portsmouth University campus Gunwarf Quays shopping and entertainment complex Spinnaker Tower Kings Theatre and Wedgewood rooms. Ferries to France Spain and the Isle of Wight are nearby. Accommodation is provided in nine comfortably furnished rooms where a cosy and welcoming atmosphere is combined with individual attention. A generous home cooked traditional English breakfast is cooked to order for you and vegetarian diets are catered for. We have free wireless Internet access throughout for your laptop or iPhone. Cyclists are welcome and we are happy to store bikes overnight and keep your luggage safe should you wish to check in early or leave late (but by special arrangement). There is room to park a motorcycle on our frontage. We are lucky to be in one of the few areas in Portsmouth without a residents? parking scheme so local on-street parking is plentiful and free.
Follow signs for 'Portsmouth West' via M27 J12/A27 and M275 then follow signs for Southsea. At the roundabout at the end of the M275 continue straight over and then take the third exit into Market Way. Go straight over the mini roundabout and then straight on at two more sets of traffic lights into Anglesea Road you will see Victoria swimming pool on your left. At the next junction still following the Southsea signs follow the road around to the left bearing right almost immediately.;
